KeLa Energy's patented technology provides the coal industry with a profitable, environmentally sound fuel by converting coal waste to a high-yield, cost effective and marketable product.

KeLa Engineered Fuel is a coal-based fuel made up of recovered coal fines, recycled binding materials and renewable biomass. The fuel can be blended to provide customer defined levels of biomass, heating values equal to or greater than the base coal, improved combustion emissions, and variable levels of recycled material. The produced fuel pellet is transported and handled like coal and is not adversely affected by moisture or water.

KeLa Energy's proven technology provides complete and flexible production solutions. Utilizing coal fines, an enhanced coal based product is created thus making better coal. KeLa fuel can contain up to 50% renewable biomass and can be cofired with coal in existing coal burning equipment. When burned, KeLa fuel reduces the emission of Sulfur Oxides, Nitrogen Oxides, Volatile Organic Chemicals (VOC's), and hazardous Air Pollutants (HAP's). KeLa fuels burn more completely than coal (less unburned carbon in ash) and in most blends, the heating value of the KeLa fuel pellet is increased when compared to coal.

The environmental benfits of the KeLa Engineered Fuel are numerous - reduced emissions; use of recycled, recovered, and renewable materials; no binding leaching during outside storage; more efficient burn; coal biomass cofiring; and life extension of existing waste coal impoundments.

The KeLa management team is a dynamic group of professionals with experience and successes in the areas of business start-up, business development, management, product and technology development, marketing, and engineering applications.

Larry Umstadter is the Chief Executive Officer and President of KeLa Energy. Larry has over 40 years of experience in creating, starting-up, and managing new companies. He has background in post-consumer recycling, plastic composites, energy co-generation, corporate management, and environmental issues.

Larry Moot is the Vice President and Chief Engineer of KeLa Energy. Larry has over twenty-five years of experience in engineering design, product and process development, project management, patent work and corporate management.

Larry Rodriguez is Vice President of KeLa Energy. Larry is a professional engineer with over thirty-five years experience in the electric utility, renewable energy, engineering and healthcare fields. He holds patents in coal based mixtures. As part of the engineering team he is responsible for combustion applications.

Frank Page, CPA is the Controller for KeLa Energy. Frank is a CPA with over thirty years experience in business taxes and accounting.

Kent Flanery, P.E. is a co-founder of KeLa Energy. Kent, an Electrical Engineer, has over 30 years of experience in the U.S. Energy Industry with specific expertise in, power system engineering, engineering management, marketing, and client based technical service.
