KeLa Engineered Fuels provides a clean, safe, cost effective method for co-firing of biomass material into coal fired boilers for either air emission reduction or renewable energy production, without the need for costly boiler modifications or special handling of the fuel.

KeLa Engineered Fuel containing renewable biomass will have a Btu content equal to or greater than coal. Recent examples were 13% higher in BTU content.

Compared to coal, the KeLa Process© produces an engineered fuel with a 13% higher BTU value, 33% higher hydrogen content, 54% lower sulfur content, 2% total moisture by weight and 2% lower ash content.

The KeLa binder is not affected by water, rain or outdoor storage. KeLa Engineered Fuels are very water resistant and do not absorb water, degrade or fall apart when wet.

KeLa Engineered Fuels can be transported and stored just like coal and require no special handling to prevent water absorption or contamination. The fuel does not foul equipment or produce dusty residues.
