KeLa Engineered Fuel is made up of recovered coal fines, recycled binder materials and as an option locally sourced renewable biomass. The KeLa Fuel pellet is robust and can be handled and stored like coal – with no pellet breakdown or leaching during storage or in the presence of water.

The emissions of KeLa Engineered Fuel are lower than coal based on stoker boiler testing. Sulfur Oxides were reduced by 35% to 41%, Nitrous Oxides were reduced by 14% to 41%, Carbon Dioxide was reduced by 3% to 5%, VOC’s were reduced by 15% and the total HAP’s emitted were reduced.

The higher heating value, lower moisture content and more complete burn of the KeLa Engineered Fuel allow the user to burn less fuel for a given job thus making more efficient use of a valuable resource.
