KeLa Energy has developed a patent protected technology to produce coal-based fuel pellets from readily available recovered, recycled, and renewable materials. KeLa Engineered Fuels can be tailored to meet the needs of the customer in terms of emissions, heating value, and biomass content. The resulting fuel is considered a "High-Volatile A Bituminous" coal.

The KeLa Process© is cost-effective, and enhances the properties of the base coal. The produced fuel, which can contain biomass, is handled and shipped like coal, and can be burned in conventional coal fired industrial boilers and in power plants equipped to burn biomass fuels.
